Seattle, WA (Hybrid) Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days
remote) Type: 9-month contract Compensation: $50-$60/hour (DOE) Job
Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Accountant to
support and guide day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on
general ledger oversight and month-end close. This role is ideal
for a senior-level individual contributor who can serve as a go-to
accounting resource, provide informal guidance to staff, and ensure
accurate and timely financial reporting-without direct people
management responsibilities. CPA is not required. Key
Responsibilities Lead and support month-end and quarter-end close
processes Review complex journal entries, account reconciliations,
and supporting schedules Ensure accuracy and integrity of the
general ledger in compliance with GAAP Serve as a subject-matter
expert and escalation point for accounting questions Provide
guidance and review support to staff and senior accountants (no
direct reports) Analyze financial statements and investigate
variances Assist with preparation of internal and external
financial reports Support audits by preparing schedules and
responding to auditor inquiries Identify and implement process
improvements and efficiency gains Partner cross-functionally with
Finance, FP&A, and business teams Support ad hoc accounting
projects and initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in
Accounting, Finance, or related field 7-10 years of progressive
accounting experience CPA not required Strong expertise in GAAP and
general ledger accounting Proven experience leading or owning
month-end close processes Ability to review work and provide
guidance to other accountants Experience with ERP systems
(NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred) Advanced Excel skills
(pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) Strong communication,
organizational, and problem-solving skills Comfortable operating as
a senior individual contributor Nice to Have Experience acting as a
lead or informal mentor on accounting teams Exposure to system
implementations or accounting process improvements Prior contract
