About the Position: The Science Mathematics and Technology Education Program maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure-track teaching positions on a part-time basis with occasional opportunities for temporary, full-time appointments. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis. About the College/Department: The Science Mathematics and Technology Education Program offers undergraduate degree programs in general science. Please refer to the program website for detailed information about our programs: http://www.smate.wwu.edu. Position Responsibilities: 1) Instruction for Elementary or Secondary Science Teaching Methods or Elementary Science Teaching Practicum courses, or 2) Content courses in physics, biology, chemistry, or geology for future elementary teachers. Required Qualifications: M.S. in science education or science disciplineAt least five years of teaching experience in K-12 schools for position responsibility (1) or three years of teaching experience in high school, community college, or university for position responsibility (2).
