Job AdvertRole Responsibilities:

  • The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing the project Quality Management System (QMS) in conformance with BP's quality management processes and for implementing Quality Assurance activities.
  • The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for authoring and maintaining applicable quality documents used to complete the quality activities.
  • The QA/QC Engineer Team Lead is responsible for managing the QA/QC Engineer resources within the project.
  • The QA/QC Engineer line report to the Americas & Trinidad quality subject area lead and works in quality team at Cherry Point Refinery taking day to day direction from Cherry Point quality manager.
  • Implement the project & TAR quality assurance activities identified in the Quality Plan during the design, procurement, and construction activities of the project
  • Implement BP's policies and procedures as applicable to the project and/or TAR scope of work
  • Provide mentorship, advice and training to project team, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and third parties as required to confirm understanding of the project Quality objectives
  • Chip in to the development of the project/TAR quality plan, inspection and surveillance schedule covering project resource participation in purchase order / contract kick-off and pre-production meetings and factory acceptance tests, and periodic inspection and surveillance in line with the agreed inspection and test plan (ITP)
  • Develop a risk-based project audit schedule covering audits of the project management systems, contractor, and suppliers, covering project team led, contractor led and combined audits
  • Identify and manage the resources required to implement the inspection and surveillance schedule.
  • Supply quality control and inspection knowledge into the supplier / contractor bid evaluation process
  • Provide quality expertise and input into the supplier and contractor bid evaluation process
  • Lead supplier and contractor capability reviews as part of supplier selection to verify that the supplier can meet the specific project requirements
  • Identify risks in the supply chain or with sub-contractors which may lead to audits being required to be carried out and perform audits
  • Implement the Purchase Order Quality Requirements (POQR) process to identify the project quality requirements to be applied to purchase orders based on the criticality and associated risks
  • Regularly collect, evaluate, and report Quality Assurance goals from the project delivery teams and key contractors, for performance management
  • Capture quality-related lessons for future projects via the Local and ETP Shared Learning System
  • Contribute to the project quality improvement process by conducting root cause investigations of applicable non-conformances, driving to true root cause and relevant corrective actions
  • Actively participate in the GPO Quality Community of Practice, cascading relevant information to the project staffCrucial Qualifications & Experience:
    • Degree in Engineering with 10 years of related experience
    • Welding Inspection Awareness (e.g., PCN Level 1)
    • NDE Awareness
    • Coating Inspection AwarenessDesired Certifications:
      • AWS CWI
      • ISO 9001 Auditor
