Chemical and Material Obsolescence Data and Tooling Specialist
(Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing
Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Supply Chain Engineering organization is
seeking a Chemical and Material Obsolescence Data and Tooling
Specialist (Experienced or Senior) to support our team in Everett,
WA or Seattle, WA. Position Overview: This position is among a team
of highly skilled teammates that manage Boeing Commercial Airplanes
(BCA) Programs technical project portfolio for specific chemical
restrictions and material obsolescence. As a member of the team,
the responsibility is to develop and maintain the data and tooling
ecosystem to support resolution of risks/issues of material
obsolescence and environmental regulations that affect BCA
production. The ideal candidate will work extensively across the
Enterprise including BCA Airplane Programs, BCA Engineering
Functions, Supply Chain, Supply Chain Engineering (SCE), M&P,
CAS, Global Enterprise Sustainability (GES), Environmental Health
and Safety (EHS), BCA Product Development, BCA Business Strategy, &
Environment, Enterprise EHS, Washington DC Ops, Boeing
International Policy, Legal, and Intellectual Property, IT, BGS and
BDS. Position Responsibilities: Develop and Maintain CMRM data and
tooling ecosystem, servers and data repositories, including but not
limited to FLASK (A Chemical/Material data management and reporting
Suite of Tools). Keep Software modules up to date (Python, Pandas,
DB Drivers etc). Develop new background Jobs to support
requirements. Manager Git source code control repository (System
Documentation, access control to source codes etc.) Organize and
lead wholistic Data Mining with cross-functional, multi-disciplined
team members to protect BCA airplane production with regards to
environmental regulation compliance and material technical
obsolescence. Perform risk analysis and project planning; Lead and
integrate project teams to develop strategy, plans and
implementation activities. Own the interface between enterprise
data (Engineering, Product Standards, Supply Chain, IT, EHS,
Regulatory, PD etc) and the CMRM tooling ecosystem and maintain
repository links, data and artifacts. Engage with cross-functional
organizations to define plan, identify responsibilities, and manage
plan execution to meet engineering, quality, and schedule
requirements. Develop and support industry data reporting
(Substances of Concerns in Products (SCIP) including SAP
integration, Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), Supplier and
3rd Party Chemical/Material/Regulatory data collection etc).
Provide technical, business and integration leadership for the
development and execution of the project plan. Communicate plans
and status to Boeing leadership. Study, evaluate, and solve
problems where chemicals & materials are needed to support current
production. Identify, define and execute process improvements along
with the team. Use Project Management Best Practices and Boeing
project management systems. Other responsibilities may include:
Provide Data and Tooling support, guidance and direction for
Enterprise chemical policy, external engagement and supply chain
strategies. Support Data and Tooling needs for regulatory and
industry meetings, consortia, and workgroups associated with a
variety of environmental regulations. Chemical Regulation Advocacy,
Assessment and Compliance support - Respond to technical data
collection requirements, provide technical inputs (current and new
regulations), Represent Boeing at all EMIT consortia meetings and
act as the interface within various teams and CMRM. Perform data
driven research and author presentations, white papers and
coordination sheets for background, guidance and planning needed to
support environmental, sustainability, and chemical regulation
requirements. Support data and tooling needs for research,
analysis, advocacy, development and implementation for US EPA and
EU REACH environmental regulation compliance, airlines support,
legal counsel etc. Provide research and analysis support to Legal
Counsel. Support of data mining activities in BCA Bill-Of-Material
and other data sources. Experience with Boeing Specifications, BCA
Bill-Of-Material (BOM), BCA change process, Safety Data Sheets,
Supply Chain, and BCA BOM data mining is a plus. Work
Authorization: This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The
selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the
listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of
study in Computer Science, IT, Management and System Science,
Operations, and/or data science or equivalent related course. 3
years of experience in project leadership role. 3 years of
experience in multi-discipline project management. Experience in
one or more of the following coding skills and large-scale database
management like Excel, Python, SQL, DBMS etc. Experience with
superior presentation skills and the ability to create, deliver,
and share persuasive presentations to internal and external
stakeholders. Ability to work independently while being a good team
player. Superior organizational and communication skills with
capability to work on multiple projects with multiple programs and
functions. Advanced analytical skills; ability to perform high
quality structured research and analysis using multi-variable data.
Capability to interpret complex requirements and provide a clear
message to team members and leadership. Ability to influence and
engage stakeholders by using excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Exceptional listening skills, adaptive
leadership expertise and the ability to function in a dynamic,
challenging work environment. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and
results-oriented. Ability to work under pressure, deal effectively
with ambiguity and complexity. Ability to learn and adapt to new
computing systems and processes. Preferred Qualifications (Desired
Skills/Experience): 5 or more years of related work experience or
an equivalent combination of education and experience Adept Coding
skills and large-scale database management (Examples: Excel,
Python, SQL, DBMS, R, Azure ML, Java, C++, etc.) and/or related
tools Master’s Computer Science, IT, Management and System Science,
Operations, and/or Data Science. Experience with complex
integration is preferred. Experience with leading project execution
to complete the work statement is preferred. Knowledge of Boeing
production systems. Broad knowledge of materials used in aerospace
preferred. Network into materials technologies preferred. Conflict

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well

Experienced (Level 3): $96,000 - $130,000 Senior (Level 4):
