Job Description:

*JOB SUMMARY: * The pharmacy assistant primary responsibility is customer service and administrative support for the pharmacy department.*ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following, and other related duties as assigned.1. Receive prescription refill requests from patients2. Interact with a wide variety of people3. Assist pharmacy staff with faxing, copying and printing medication lists.4. Position will have frequent exposure to sick patients.5. Disinfect work area frequently to prevent disease transmission.6. Provide excellent customer service.7. Collect signed proof-of-delivery receipts.8. File and archive pharmacy receipts as directed for auditing purposes.9. Stock and distribute over-the-counter medications.10. Collect pharmacy insurance information with each visit.11. Consistently verify and update electronic patient demographic information.12. Answer pharmacy reception phone and return calls as requested.13. Refer patient pharmacy inquiries to Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technicians.14. Use RPMS or EHR as needed to complete job duties.15. Work as part of the pharmacy department team.16. Other duties as assigned*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * - High School diploma or GED - Must possess or obtain a Washington State Pharmacy Assistant License within 90 days of hire - Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's license and meet eligibility requirements for tribal insurance. - Lummi/Native American/Veteran preference policy applies*KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: * - Ability and skill to handle difficult interactions with patients. - Excellent customer service skills. - Ability to utilize cultural community knowledge to create successful patient interactions - Ability to adapt to work flow with high demand. - Ability to accurately enter patient data into a computer system, organizational and clerical skills. - Skill in using Microsoft Office software applications. - Excellent communication skills; both verbally and in writing. - Ability to maintain good working relationship with supervisor and other LTHC employees. - Ability to maintain strong work ethics including attendance and punctuality.*REQUIREMENTS: * - Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol test to be eligible for and maintain employment, as required by the LIBC Drug & Alcohol Free Workplace Policy. - This position requires regular contact with or control over Indian children and is therefore subject to successful and extensive criminal background check, CAMIS background check. - Must acquire HIPAA training, and comply with confidentiality regulations, willing to train within 90 days of hire. - Ability to pass a Tuberculosis test and other required requests to work within a healthcare facility. - Must acquire knowledge of eligibility requirements of the Lummi Tribal Health Center (willing to train within 90 days of hire). - Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including two (2) doses of a 2-dose series, or one (1) dose of a 1-dose series, plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to the start date.*TO APPLY: *To obtain a Lummi Indian Business Council (LIBC) application go to: https://www.lummi-nsn.gov/widgets/JobsNow.php or request by e-mail.
