Holiday Pay - Time and a half for company holidays - New Year's Eve
(after 3pm), New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (after 3pm), and
Christmas Day.
Paid Time off - Accumulates at the rate of 2 weeks per year
prorated on a 40 hours/week basis. PTO accrual rate increases after
2 years of longevity.
Paid training (up to 3 hours per quarter as directed) - Paid at
minimum wage.
Peer-to-Peer Training - Worksite training where you may be asked to
shadow an established caregiver while they work their shift. Paid
at minimum wage.
Reliability Reward of $1 per hour worked, subject to
conditions.
Retirement plan with a contribution match of up to 3% of the
employee's total income. Eligible at the beginning of the calendar
year following the initial date of employment.
Paid travel time at the rate of Minimum Wage in between shifts that
occur on the same day.
Mileage reimbursement when using your personal vehicle while on
shift with a client. Paid at $0.625/mile.
Travel Allowance - available when asked to travel outside of your
standard work area (30 minutes/miles from your home).
Client referral bonuses - Refer a client to use Right at Home's
services and receive a bonus of up to $400. $200 to be paid out
after the client has used 40 hours of service. $200 additional to
be paid out when they have used 120 hours of service.
Care Associate referral bonuses - Refer a Care Associate to work
with Right at Home and receive a bonus of up to $200. $100 to be
paid after completion of the first shift. $100 additional to be
paid after completion of 90 days of employment.
The confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offered by
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center provides short-term
counseling and referrals for employees and their family
members.
Earn While You Learn Program - we'll cover the costs of your skills
upgrade if you work a qualifying amount of hours. If you are
interested in becoming a Certified Caregiver.
Short Order Shifts (SOS) - Earn an additional $1/hour when you
accept a shift with less than 24 business hours' notice.
On-Call Caregiver - Pick up an on-call shift and get paid for
keeping your phone on you and being ready to deploy to callouts and
last-minute shifts that come up. Paid at a rate of $45/24-hour
period (prorated).

What You'll Do and Who You Are:
Your training will teach you everything you need to know to succeed
on the job. But there are a few character traits you should have

You don't mind getting a little dirty --- this could include (but
is not limited to) assisting the patient with activities of daily
living such as providing assistance with personal hygiene
(toileting, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair), ambulation,
eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, and other household
chores. -
You don't have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal
and work your way around a kitchen. -
You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught
by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not
limited to:
Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane,
walker, wheelchair or lift device)
Assisting with self-administered simple urine tests for sugar
acetone or albumin (may not interpret results)
Measuring and preparing special diets
Measuring intake and output
Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood
pressure)
Application of an external (condom-type) catheter
Assisting with the application of an arm sling, arm splint or leg
splint
Must Haves: -
Six months experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in
health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a
State approved Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) course is preferred.

Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and
the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
A current CPR Certificate is recommended
Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient
care
Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
Have a valid driver's license and use of an insured automobile for
work or access to adequate transportation -
Reside in the Bellingham area.
