Job Description:
DescriptionJOB TITLE: Registered Nurse
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Verifies readiness of patient station before 1st admission,
including monitor and suction.
Takes report from OR team, noting all pertinent information.
Monitors vital signs and surgical site; reports abnormalities to
physician(s).
Provides comfort measures (ice, positioning), within parameters of
physician orders.
Records all pertinent information in the medical record.
Notes and performs physician orders as prescribed.
Assesses patient pain on arrival, periodically, & at discharge;
provides ordered medications.
Utilizes safe injection practices.
Provides discharge teaching according to patient age, ability to
understand, and procedure performed; includes responsible adult
companion when appropriate.
Provides discharge materials as needed, including dressings,
orthopedic boot/shoe, etc.
Supervises unlicensed PACU personnel as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
