Western Washington University is located in scenic Bellingham, Washington, a town of about 90,000 residents nestled between the mountains of the North Cascades and the waters of Puget Sound. About the Department The Computer Science Department at WWU has grown significantly over the past six years in response to increased student interest and tremendous state need. We are looking for faculty excited by the prospect of shaping our department's future and contributing to its sustained excellence. Currently the department offers an ABET-accredited B.S. degree in Computer Science, an M.S. degree in Computer Science, and a B.S. degree in Cybersecurity that is a 2+2 program with local community colleges. The department has a strong commitment to diversity as evidenced by faculty involvement in workshops on inclusive pedagogy and research on student success, NSF grants focusing on support for low-income students, and continued participation in the National Center for Women & Information Technology's (NCWIT) Pacesetters program, among other things. All areas of specialization will be considered, and the department is particularly seeking candidates with research and teaching interests in one of the following areas: Cybersecurity, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or Algorithms. Regardless of specialty, we expect that new faculty will strengthen the department's collaborations internally and externally and will contribute to our efforts related to diversity and inclusion.
