Job Description:
The accuracy of supply chain catalog data — barcodes, package
hierarchies, and quantity mappings — has an outsized impact on
Amazon's operational efficiency. You will own the end-to-end
product strategy for Amazon's supply chain catalog data. As the
single-threaded owner, you will define what "source of truth" means
for supply chain catalog, build the roadmap to get there, and drive
execution across the company. You will own the product lifecycle
from supplier data ingestion through fulfilment consumption —
spanning data quality measurement and defect elimination, industry
standards adoption, catalog data model evolution, and new
Generative AI-based quality algorithms. You will operate with
complete independence, bring clarity to deeply complex and
ambiguous problems, and align diverse organizations around a
coherent, customer-obsessed strategy. Key job responsibilities -
Own the product vision and multi-year roadmap for supply chain
catalog data. You distinguish one-way from two-way doors, make
smart bets that position Amazon's catalog for long-term operational
excellence, and author PR/FAQs and investment narratives that earn
leadership buy-in. - Drive data quality measurement and defect
reduction at scale. You partner with Engineering and Science to
define quality metrics for barcode accuracy, quantity mappings, and
package hierarchy completeness. You build automated measurement
mechanisms that make defects visible and systematically reducible,
and you own the results — positive or negative. - Lead Amazon's
industry standards strategy. You own the relationship with global
standards bodies such as GS1, drive adoption of industry-standard
data exchanges (GDSN), and define how Amazon ingests and leverages
standards-based supplier data to reduce cost-to-serve and expand
selection. - Communicate strategy and influence executive
leadership. You demonstrate excellent judgment in escalations,
articulate complex trade-offs clearly, and amplify your impact by
mentoring PMTs across the organization. Drive cross-org alignment
across Amazon Stores. You build consensus across organizations with
different priorities and create mechanisms that audit and report
results. About the team Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS)
builds and operates the world's largest e-commerce product catalog.
