Our client, a top international Oil & Gas firm, is currently seeking an Payroll Coordinator for a 5 month temporary position. The position is located in Blaine, Washington.

The hours for this position are as follows

  • Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Pay Rate: $45.00-$55.00/Hour

Position Summary:

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible to maintain and process site payroll activities. In addition, the payroll coordinator will be responsible for partnering with the HR Team and L&D Team to support various site projects, programs and activities.

This job description is intended to provide an overview of the position and does not include all the tasks that might be required in providing the necessary support to the HR department.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages hourly payroll system, including performing detailed reviews and corrections of hourly payroll data such as working time, overtime, vacation, and sick leave, daily to ensure employees are paid correctly

  • Manages salary employee compensation

  • Provides administrative support and oversight of the FMLA and Short-Term Disability processes; partners with Plant Medical and HR Services to resolve leave issues

  • In-depth understanding of FLSA, FMLA, Washington Care Act other state and federal laws, principals, and practices as they pertain to compensation, management of leaves and polices

  • Responds to employee inquiries in a timely and accurate manner

  • Updates and maintains employee information in relevant HR systems Provides HR system training for employees and Team Leaders

  • Conducts ongoing auditing to ensure quality of payroll and data in relevant HR systems

  • Conducts new hire training for HR and payroll topics

  • Prepares and distributes HR communications to site employees

Education:

High School Diploma Required

Experience:

Required: Eight years of HR, Payroll or related experience

Preferred: Manufacturing or HR experience

  • Ability to learn new software programs

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data

  • Good investigative and analytical skills to be able to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines

  • Respects confidentiality and uses the appropriate discretion required for handling employees' personal information

  • Ability to prioritize, format, and produce correspondence and reports in a variety of formats

  • Ability to systematically determine the root cause(s) of problems

  • Ability to maintain and produce refinery documents, files of correspondence, and reports in order to meet department needs

  • Ability to use the following computer programs: PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, Kronos, Workday
