Mental Health Technician III On-Call Bellingham, WA Compass
Health is looking for a Mental Health Technician III for our Triage
Center in Whatcom County! The Whatcom County Triage Center (WCTC)
in Bellingham can accommodate individuals who are recovering from a
mental health crisis. We provide crisis stabilization, walk-in
emergency and next day appointments. The mental health facility is
co-located with a detox facility that is operated by Pioneer
Services, to which individuals needing non-medical sobering support
can be referred. Compass Health provides two Crisis Triage
facilities - one located at the Bailey Center in Everett and one in
Bellingham, WA. Both Triage programs utilize a recovery model to
assist those in behavioral health crisis to access services and
supports and resume typical levels of functioning.
Multi-disciplinary teams of Peer Counselors, Mental Health
Technicians, Clinicians, Nurses, and Psychiatric providers work
together to address their needs. What you will be performing As
part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, the MHT III provides a
combination of social, physical, and psychological services to
strengthen and enhance the capability of psychiatrically impaired
persons and enable these persons to function with greater
independence. Provides supervision of clients during the day,
evening, or night shift.
Provides independent living skills training to include social and
self-care skills training.
Participates in treatment team meetings to access, plan, implement,
and evaluate client treatment.
Develops and monitors individual treatment plans.
Assesses, monitors, and documents client progress.
Engages in active listening with individuals in the Triage
Participates in regularly scheduled supervision and team
Remains compliant with required trainings and certifications.
Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with
agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.
What you will be carrying along BA/BS/BSW Degree in a Behavioral
Science related field OR AA Degree and 2 years related work
experience OR any combination of education and experience totaling
at least 4 years and demonstrates sufficient knowledge and
Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license
through the Washington State Department of Health must submit
Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved
by the DOH.
Current First Aid & CPR certification and Food Handlers permit, or
ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Valid Washington State Driver's License required including vehicle
and appropriate insurance, if applicable. What you will be sharing
Assists in monitoring vital signs and safety checks.
Engages clients in group activities.
Performs chart audits.
Conducts follow-up phone calls to check on client progress after
Cleans client rooms after discharge and assists in maintaining the
cleanliness of the unit.
Monitors meal times.
Answers the phones and takes criteria from community partners.
Assists with the intake process of clients on admit. What we will
