  • Review all access requests for completeness and consistency with campus access control policies and procedures.
  • Advise the Director on the planning, management, and coordination of access control related operations;
  • Assure that Area Access Managers and Departmental Key Controllers throughout the University adhere to University access control policies, standards, and procedures;
  • Coordinate electronic lock box administration
  • Review facility lock/unlock schedules and provide quality assurance related to their implementation;
  • Oversee policy-required departmental key audits;
  • Assist the University community with keying strategies to facilitate departmental operational needs;
  • Provide operational support to the WWU Lock Shop and Technical Maintenance Shop;
  • Maintain decision-making authority regarding who should have access to what locations across all of campus.The State HR classification for this position is Program Manager A.Required Qualifications
    • Two years of related program management experience in an institutional, commercial, or other large-scale environment, including access control system administration, security administration, policy compliance, and/or data management and auditing.
    • Strong problem solving, team-building, and customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate with users and customers at all levels of the university.
    • Strong and demonstrated ability to work calmly, effectively and flexibly with a diverse group of colleagues and customers. Proven ability to work unsupervised and exercise sound, independent judgment.
    • Strongly demonstrated ability to explain complex issues in simple lay terms, and to give instructions to individuals with widely diverse skill sets and abilities.
    • Ability to work on and prioritize a wide variety of tasks simultaneously.
    • Strongly demonstrated ability to handle complex designs, accuracy, and ability to pay attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience working with large access control systems.
      • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Access, Word and Windows.
      • Knowledge of brass hey hierarchy.
