Job Description:
Basic Job Functions:The Quality Assurance Engineer I will be
responsible for the identification and implementation of root cause
analysis / investigation activities for high impact quality issues;
development of procedures and work instructions, maintenance of
quality records, training of office and shop floor personnel,
supplier qualification and monitoring and support our Quality
Management System. This is a hands-on position that requires close
and effective working relationship with manufacturing, engineering,
assembly & test, project management, administration, purchasing and
warehousing. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Review,
Compile or Complete product deliverables including Contract
deliverables, Certificates of Conformance, Tool Inspection Reports,
First Article Inspection Reports, etc.Develop, apply and maintain
quality requirements, standards, inspection reports for
manufacturing products and processes (welding and
fabrication)Initiate Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions,
assisting to evaluate and determine Root Cause and Corrective
Action Plans Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous
improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and
Measurement System Analysis, where applicableManage and coordinate
internal PPM (Parts per Million), supplier PPM, supplier problem
solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicatorsRead
and understand applicable ISO, AS, SAE, AWS, ASTM and similar
quality and process standardsServe as the Quality Assurance
representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB)Perform in
process and final inspections on products/projects as
necessarySupportQuality Management System Experience: Minimum 2
years' quality experience in a manufacturing or assembly
environment. Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related
equivalent experience. Required Skills: Demonstrated ability at
leading or facilitating structured problem-solving events within
the framework of a company-wide continuous improvement
program.Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint).Proficiency with analysis of data and statistical
techniques.Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation
and team facilitation skills including customer interaction.Ability
to work under limited supervision. Working Conditions Working
conditions are normal for a welding environment where exposure to
moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and
airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise
level.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and
hear.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus.
