Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated security guard to join our team at Skagit County in Mount Vernon. This person will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of staff and visitors by interacting with customers to provide safe and clean place visit. We pride ourselves on a Concierge style interaction with a positive environment to assist visitors.

We are looking for candidates with a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations. Previous experience as a security guard or in a similar role is preferred and customer service skills are a plus.

Essential Functions:

• Greet everyone around you and have a positive conversation.
• Maintain a professional concierge-type appearance and demeanor.
• Monitor the grounds and interior to identify and address security risks.
• Travel between various screening checkpoints as assigned.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of security-related incidents.
• Communicate between the Skagit Transit security supervisor and security team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  Education, Experience, and Certifications:
  
  A High School Diploma or GED is required and the addition of customer service, security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred. The ability to meet the requirements to obtain a Washington State Guard card or possession of one is a nonnegotiable requirement.   • Reliable transportation (Required).
  • Basic knowledge of computers including office software and the use of mobile applications.
  • Ability to carry, drag, and lift objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Concierge-level customer service experience.
  • Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Basic knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to read and write coherent reports and activity logs.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
