Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION Basic Job Functions: A Weld Supervisor is
directly responsible for overseeing and organizing the weld
equipment, staff, and processes on a production floor. They will
oversee scheduling and routine production activities as well as
acting as first-line troubleshooting should problems arise.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in welding shop
environment or demonstrated proficiency in basic welding
procedures. Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems,
production processes, techniques and industry standards. Good
understanding of 5S or Lean Manufacturing activities. Education:
Appropriate trade or tertiary qualifications in a marine,
production or welding discipline. Qualifications may be substituted
by extensive industry/trade experience. Essential Functions &
Responsibilities: Management of the production team including
hiring, appraising, training and disciplining when necessary
Ensures all safety policies are understood and followed Assigns
production tasks to team members taking account of production needs
and individual capabilities Collects data and compiles reports
about production Ensures all documentation necessary for regulatory
compliance is completed accurately Troubleshoots issues with
equipment or machinery Conduct reviews of the production processes
to try to identify areas for improvements Ensure production
processes are being carried out in line with company and regulatory
requirements Ensures production team has access to all relevant raw
materials and equipment ensure the smooth running of production
Will work with specialist teams (such as validation or quality) to
ensure that production team and equipment are fully compliant and
up to date with training Ensuring production downtime is kept to a
minimum All other duties as assigned by Production Manager Required
Skills: Ability to supervise and coach individuals. Proactive
manner demonstrating interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft
Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to understand technical documents, technical manuals, and
drawings. Ability to identify work priorities in a constantly
changing environment. Ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to succeed in
a high-performance team environment. Strong relationship skills
with subordinates, peers, and executives. Strong understanding of
various factors that yield a successful outcome. Accountable and
delivers on commitments. Ability to identify new processes and
procedures for continual improvement. Working Conditions: Working
conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment where
exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust,
fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated
noise level. Employees must regularly lift and or move up to 25
pounds and frequently lift and or move more than 75 pounds. While
performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly
required to stand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to
include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection
and work boots. Compensation: Pay requirements will be based on
experience. The compensation range will be between $75,000 and
$85,000/annual salary.
