Job Description:
As a Crew Custodian, you play a key role in ensuring the
building and shared spaces are clean, presentable and ready to be
enjoyed by all. You will also help contribute to a pleasant and

Responsibilities:
Clean, dust, and wipe surfaces in public areas
Vacuum rugs and carpets; sweep and mop floors
Empty and clean wastebaskets, trash containers, recycling and place
in proper receptacles
Sanitize and tidy restrooms, clean & disinfect kitchenettes and
break rooms using established practices/procedures
Clean accessible interior, exterior windows and blinds using
established practices and procedures
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemical supplies and use
as directed
Perform routine glass and mirror cleaning
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Must have a documented disability that qualifies under the
AbilityOne program
Must be able to pass an extensive background check administered by
the US Government to access federal facilities
Must be able to clean at two sites in Blaine, Washington
Must be able to work independently (a working supervisor is
available at all times to offer guidance and support)
Must be able to safely operate a variety of custodial equipment
(vacuum, mop, floor scrubber, etc.)
Must be able to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals and
general cleaning supplies
Must be able to communicate effectively and build effective working
relationships
Must be competent in following instructions (verbal and/or
written)
Custodial experience is preferred but training in tasks is
available
Wage and Benefits:
Hourly wage is $17.75 per hour
Health and Welfare (H&W) benefit ($4.57 per hour) which can be
paid out in cash if the applicant does not want to spend it on
insuranceWith H&W paid out, the total wage is $22.32 per
hour
Health and Welfare may be used to purchase medical, dental or
vision insurance for individuals working more than 30 hours per
week
11 Paid holidays for those not scheduled to work, holiday pay
amount is proportional to how many hours you work the week
prior
Worked holidays are paid as double-time - This facility runs 365
days a year which means we have one of our crews cleaning every day
of the week
Paid sick leave - Accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
Up to 2 weeks paid vacation per year after one year of
employment
401k matching - 2% after one year of employment and up to 6%
matching

Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical
actions for extended periods of time with or without
assistance*:
Maneuvering in and around the worksite
Lifting boxes or equipment, alone or with assistance
Pushing or pulling objects such as vacuums, carts, mops, etc.
May be required to push/pull equipment of varying weight
Grasping both small and large objects
Climbing ladders and/or step stools

Schedule:
Available shifts are Monday through Sunday. We are looking for
someone who can work 5 shifts a week, but less shifts is a
possibility if needed. Each shift is between 4 and 5 paid hours.
Work shifts occur 6:00 am-10:30 am.
Transportation:
We pick up crew members who need transportation between 4:45 am and
5:30 am.
Work Environment:
Work is performed at the Peace Arch Border Station in Blaine,
Washington. Employees may be exposed to cleaning
supplies/chemicals, noise from equipment in maintenance
environment, and depending on indoor and outdoor conditions,
exposure to cold or heat.
