Full-Time Carpenter

Peter Schmidt Construction is looking to hire FULL-TIME skilled carpenter employees local to the San Juan Islands with custom residential and commercial construction experience. We are a fast-growing company with multiple fascinating and exciting projects that are high-end new and remodel projects. Over 80% of our projects are waterfront homes. We are currently looking for skilled carpenters with high competency to do all levels of carpentry with clear direction from the project foreman and by reading the architectural plans provided. We will offer a job at an hourly rate between $35-$45/hr. If you value yourself higher, we are still interested in meeting with you to understand your skillset and experience. Below is a list of job experience and skill expectations:

• Acting and treating clients, coworkers, and subcontractors with professionalism
• Understanding framing and finish carpentry
• Working with and understanding architectural plan sets
• Preparing the layout of the project.
• Selecting and ordering materials
• Managing other employees and subcontractors to keep them safe, on task, and constantly busy
• Take clear direction from job site foreman and architectural designers
• Have a driver's license and own a truck or van capable of hauling tools and material
• Knowledge to utilize all necessary job site tools for any task at hand
• Own the necessary tools to perform typical framing and finish carpentry tasks
• Checking work along the way to ensure it's up to code and per design specifications.
• Lifting at least 65 pounds
