The CA will use a data driven approach to model a building s performance. They can then make assertions on whether occupants may or not feel comfortable within their space. The CA would have the ability to make a change on the fly, or submit work orders to have the issues addressed. The overall performance metric for the CA will be work orders, and engineering teams can make assumptions on the overall impact of comfort improvement caused by the modifications. A CA is a controls technician by trade. Control technicians are engineering hybrids that exercise skills across many domains including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, and IT. They install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, document, and repair a wide variety of industrial instrumentation, electronic monitoring, metering, controlling and signaling devices used in the operation of Building Automation Systems and Critical Environments. Programming is an essential part of this job. Therefor they must be able to understand basic programming concepts, then apply them to learn building automation program languages.Essential Job knowledge and skill factors:Comfort metrics such as temperature, humidity, CO2, and air quality.CMMS systems and work order managementCustomer engagement and know how to communicate technical problems effectively to a non-technical audience.Understand basics of WELL V1 stadardsRetrieve actionable insights from PowerBI dashboards, understand how to read and navigate inside PowerBI.Operate/Configure/Program and Design multiple Building Automation Systems in support of Microsoft Campus operations.Mechanical understanding of equipment operated such as Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Air Handling Units, and Terminal Cooling Units.Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer Fundamentals.Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot with proper test equipment such as Digital Meters, Pressure gauges, temperature probes and flow meters.Ability to respond to dynamic system faults and casualties and maintain Critical Environments.Proper escalation and management of casualty events.Demonstrate high level programming ability in multiple DDC languages.Ability to develop Loop Tuning solutions by in depth application of PID principles.Demonstrate extensive knowledge of energy conservation guidelines.Understand and demonstrate the ability to review equipment for optimum energy strategies.Command, edit and create Graphic/Data Displays.Setup and troubleshooting of current Microsoft OS and Office environments.Understanding of various industry communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, LON, N2, P2.Ability to interpret complex system reports and analyze for optimum performance.Demonstrate the ability to test, calibrate and repair/replace all varieties of sensors and instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, air flow, air quality and electrical.Support Mechanical Technicians on system repair/operation.Train Mechanical Technicians on control system operation.Review, enforce and create MS Standards and Guidelines on construction, MAC and TI projects.Skills, Education and Experience:3+ years of HVAC or Building Automation ExperienceHS + Voc. Training RequiredTechnical/programming aptitude preferred.A+/N+ Software and hardware certifications or related experience preferred.SAFETYResponsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work. This includes but is not limited to:1. Complete all required and assigned HSE training at a satisfactory level,2. Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE-related requirements at all times,3. Participate in all HSE-related programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing and assessment, etc.4. Report any conditions which you feel could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required.
