Position Description Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation's largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle's electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally soundThe Supply Chain Analyst is the subject matter expert as it relates to City Light's inventory system (Asset Suite 80) ensuring data integrity, business process alignment with system functionality and troubleshooting problems. This position is the key liaison for user issues and support of business interfaces with other operating systems within the City and UtilityIn addition to the technical working knowledge, this position is responsible for quantitative analysis, data mining, ad hoc reporting and database management supporting decision making. Assists management in establishing strategic goals for inventory management to maximize the utility's investment in materials while managing risks to the utility operation group's ability to perform work.This position has no direct reports and will report to the Material Control Manager. Job Responsibilities Analyze inventory levels and provide standardized replenishment calculation criteria based on type of commodity, criticality to utility operations, vendor lead times, usage patterns and ratio of planned to actual Re-balance the inventory minimum levels at all warehouses to move inventory where it is needed and reduce inventory levels where they are too high Review and establish stock levels for new items and oversee the depletion or surplus of older materials collaborating with all stakeholders; engineers, safety and health and crews to work through any issues Ensure the integrity of supply chain system's traceable material data and business process Support and review supply chain policies which drive procurement decisions, tracking demand for materials, establishing financial load rates and others Provide special project analysis to assist users across the utility in support of business decisions requiring custom queries with supply chain and overall business process knowledge Determine and administer security groups and profiles for supply chain business users Ability to review and interpret technical software specifications for troubleshooting or configuration changes Act as subject matter expert for the supply chain software interfaces to the City Financial system and several departmental applications including the Work and Asset Management System - WAM Ensure data accuracy and information within the supply chain application Resolve all data discrepancies by determining root cause (source) of inconsistency and track issue to resolution Maintain system documentation and procedures and user setups Assists with all phases of department projects and project cycle, may include planning design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, training and closure Represents business unit data requirements or educates on data availability and appropriateness This position will be responsible for the coordination and facilitation of re-implementing warehouse bar code scanning functions Qualifications Experience: Three years of experience in systems, operations, procedures, research or analysisEducation: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).Desired Qualifications: Five years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, demand planning or materials management Strong analytical, root cause and critical thinking skills Experience with complex data analysis, data reconciliation and ensuring data quality Advanced excel capability, ability to interpret and present data meaningful to audience Data Administration Data querying, Statistics or modeling experience a plus APICS or SCM certification Documentation/procedure writing experience Process & technical problem-solving skills Ability to communicate at different organizational levels and willingness to take initiative ERP applications experienceAdditional Information Job offers are contingent on the verification of credentials and other information required by the employment process including the completion of a background check which includes criminal history and driving history review.Want to know more about Seattle City Light?
